Mike Trout can’t catch a break
This one sucks. Angels star Mike Trout already was out after undergoing surgery to repair a torn meniscus. After months of rehabbing, he announced he suffered another torn meniscus that will require surgery again.
Read his statement below:
We’re at the point where people may start to remember Trout more for what he could have been than what he was, which is one of the greatest baseball players of all time. Injuries have plagued the three-time MVP for the last several seasons. Those injury woes, plus his inability to make any postseason impact with such a poorly run franchise, will put a dent in his otherwise flawless legacy.
A no-hitter for Blake Snell
Reigning NL Cy Young winner Blake Snell tossed the first no-hitter of his stellar career Friday in Cincinnati. Interestingly enough, it was the first time he ever made it to the ninth inning. If you missed the historic start, you can watch all 27 outs below.
Snell is the third pitcher to toss a no-no this year, following Ronel Blanco and Dylan Cease.
Xavier Edwards hits for cycle
Marlins infielder Xavier Edwards hit for the cycle against the Brewers. That’s two cycles in two years for Miami and the second cycle of the 2024 MLB season.
