If you subscribe to the blog, you may have wondered why I haven’t posted anything for the last three months after publishing the Weekly Rundown every Sunday over the previous two years. I covered the World Series then disappeared, despite promising to deliver content throughout the MLB offseason. My bad.
The Weekly Rundown became a chore toward the end of the 2024 season. I never really had a good gauge of how many people cared to read it. Maybe I’m wrong, but it felt like a waste of time. Plus, I think I started using it as a crutch when I didn’t have any creative content ideas.
That said, I didn’t go dark after the World Series because I gave up this whole Substack thing. I stopped abruptly because, in addition to the Weekly Rundown fatigue, I was hit with back-to-back major life events that needed all of my attention. GOOD life events!
My last Substack post was published on Nov. 10. On Nov. 15, my wife Nicole and I closed on our forever home.
The hiatus coming right after the closing date wasn’t a coincidence. The house is a bit of a fixer-upper, so we immediately tackled as many projects as we could before the move-in day in December… all while digesting the incredible news we received just a couple of weeks before closing:
I’m gonna be a dad!
To say I’m thrilled would be an understatement. Our daughter is due Aug. 1 and the day can’t come soon enough.
As excited as I am — and I’m absolutely ecstatic — I’d be lying if I said this wasn’t a stressful time. Between these two events and my full-time job, I’ve hardly had a second to sit down and breathe. This blog, social media, and everything else I’ve done in my free time have been a complete afterthought.
Until now!
I don’t know if The Weekly Rundown will continue. I’m open to feedback on that one. Regardless, the blog is back from the dead. I’ll be writing and posting content to TikTok, Instagram, etc. consistently from this point on.

I appreciate those who have stayed subscribed despite the inactivity. Stay tuned for a barrage of baseball content with spring training set to begin.
Love to see it!
